New Emergency Department at Inter-Community Hospital is NOW open!
Covina, Calif. – The wait is finally over.

The newly constructed Emergency Department (ED) at Inter-Community Hospital in Covina is now open and ready to treat patients.

The new ED cost more than $10 million dollars to construct and just under three years to complete. It features 21 beds, nearly doubling its previous size. The welcoming entrance and front lobby are directly off of College and 3rd streets in downtown Covina. And, the patient treatment stations offer a spacious and comforting environment while offering the latest technology that will continue to enable the ICH medical team to provide advanced emergent care. In fact, the ED features direct access to the operating rooms and Citrus Valley Heart Center services for immediate interventions.

“We are proud that Inter-Community has expanded its capability to provide critical emergency care. This new emergency room will ensure we can continue to meet the urgent medical needs of our community for years to come,” says Citrus Valley Health Partners President & CEO Rob Curry.
The emergency department will also continue to provide Rapid Medical Evaluation (RME) exams, ensuring patients are seen and evaluated quickly by medical professionals. "We look forward to partnering with CVHP to not only meet but exceed the needs of our community. We strive to deliver high quality, compassionate, and timely care to our patients when they need it most,” says Kevin V. Hua, DO, medical director of the ED.

Another feature of emergency services at all CVHP hospitals, including Queen of the Valley in West Covina and Foothill Presbyterian in Glendora is online emergency room appointment scheduling for non-life threatening medical emergencies. The InQuicker service provides the added comfort of waiting for your emergency room visit from the comfort of your home.
