Medical/Surgical Units

The Medical Surgical units at Citrus Valley Health Partners offers acute specialized nursing care to adult and geriatric medical, surgical and oncology patients, both inpatient and outpatient. Patients served require care in relation to cardiac, respiratory, orthopedic, renal, diabetic, ventilator dependency, oncology treatments including surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and pain management. Diagnostic and therapeutic modalities are utilized to facilitate patient care. A multidisciplinary approach including daily rounds is done to assist in coordination of the continuum of patient care.

There are four Medical/Surgical Units: 34-bed (ICC), 23-bed (ICC), 34-bed (QVC) and 54 bed (QVC). Both campuses, Inter-Community and Queen of the Valley have an out-patient setting for treatments, including chemotherapy and blood transfusions.

Citrus Valley Health Partners participates in the national " Total Joint Program," providing screening of patients scheduled for total hip/knee replacements for MRSA(Methicillin- resistive Staphylococcus aureus) and providing treatment pre-op for optimal surgical outcomes. A comprehensive pre-op class is offered for all orthopedic surgeries including total hip replacement, total knee replacement, shoulder replacement and back surgeries.

Citrus Valley Medical Center - Queen of the Valley Hospital is able to perform minimally invasive surgeries using the DaVinci robotic technology. Currently Queen of the Valley is in the progress of becoming a certified surgical center of excellence for minimally invasive surgeries headed by Dr. Edward Tangchitnob.
