The Citrus Valley Health Partners Center for Diabetes Education and Sweet Success Programs value these same qualities and believe that:
- People with diabetes and their families (or significant others) have a right to access needed or desired educational services and information about diabetes.
- Diabetes education services should be in your neighborhood—we’re located in the San Gabriel Valley and offer services at two locations.
- Self-management education for diabetes improves health and quality of life.
- Diabetes education empowers those people with the knowledge and skills necessary for them to achieve and maintain good health and to prevent or delay the complications that may develop from this disease.
- Behavioral and psychosocial skills are needed to help the person with diabetes cope and live with diabetes.
- Self-management education and continued support are vital in saving the person with diabetes and society money that would be spent treating the complications related to poorly managed diabetes.
- The general community needs to be educated about diabetes.
