| Type 1 diabetes usually occurs in children and young adults, but has been seen in a few older adults.
In type 1 diabetes, the body makes little or no insulin. Insulin is a hormone that helps your body use energy.
Diabetes does not have to slow you down—you can learn to remain healthy. It’s OK to be a little scared or nervous. Our staff will help you whether you are brand new to this whole diabetes thing or an old pro.
