Our program offers a variety of support groups. The group leaders are both marriage family therapists trained to work on the behavioral and emotional aspects of having diabetes. The groups are tailored to fit the needs of the participants. The leaders arrange occasional special speakers and events, such as holiday parties. Support Groups held at the Foothill Education Center in Glendora are led by Tammy Yamashita, MS, MFT, CDE; Counselor and include:

  • Adults with Diabetes: 1st Monday of each month from 10:30 am to 12 pm. 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7 pm to 8:30 pm.
  • Parents of Children with Diabetes: 1st Wednesday of each month from 7 pm to 8:30 pm.
  • Type 1 diabetes: 2nd Wednesday of each month from 7 pm to 8:30 pm.
  • Adolescents: 4th Wednesday of each month from 7 pm to 8:30 pm.
  • Insulin pump: 3rd Monday from 5 pm to 7 pm (led by Medtronic).
