Foothill Presbyterian Hospital to Host 31st Annual Pride of the Foothills Spring Run and Family Health & Safety Fair
Grab your running shoes and a buddy, because it’s time for the 31st Annual Pride of the Foothills Spring Run and Family Health & Safety Fair. The event is set for Saturday, May 9 at Foothill Presbyterian Hospital, 250 S. Grand Ave., Glendora.
Children 13 and under and their parents can enjoy a family 2k run/walk beginning at 8 a.m., and a 5k run is open to all ages starting at 9 a.m. All runners will receive a participatory ribbon and the first three male and female finishers in each race division will be awarded special medals. Animals, skates, skateboards or headphones are not allowed on the race course for safety reasons.
Pre-registration entry fees are $6 for the 2k and $20 for the 5k, and include a T-shirt. Both races will start and finish on Ada Avenue, just south of the hospital. The course is mostly flat and paved, with gentle rolling hills through the streets of Glendora. Drinks will be provided on the course and at the finish line.
Applications are available in the lobby of Foothill Presbyterian Hospital. After May 4, late registration will be accepted on race day only with an additional $3 fee for the 2k and an additional $5 fee for the 5k (T-shirt subject to availability). Participants also may register online at www.active.com. Proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships for local high school students.
Families are also invited to a free Family Health & Safety Fair on the east lawn of the hospital from 7 to 10:30 a.m. The fair will include information on health and safety, insurance programs and community agencies. This year’s fair will have a “Go Green!” theme, and vendors and sponsors will dress up their booths to reflect the theme and provide activities for visitors.
This year’s major event sponsors include Canyon Air Service, Inc./Bryant, Medic-1 Ambulance, Pacific Western Bank and Wal-Mart.
